Mining A mining business is involved with the extraction and processing of natural occuring solid minerals from the earth included precious minerals and other geological materials.
Missouri Department of Transportation The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is committed to providing the public with a safe and modern transportation system. Under the guidance of the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, MoDOT is responsible for maintaining 33,830 miles of highways and 10,399 bridges throughout the state. In addition to designing, building and maintaining roads and bridges, MoDOT works to improve airports, river ports, railroads, public transit systems and pedestrian and bicycle travel. The agency also administers motor carrier and highway safety programs.
Mobile Home Park A mobile home park includes any site, lot, field or tract of land that includes three or more mobile, manufactured, modular homes or a combination of any of these homes. The homes are placed on developed spaces and operated as a for-profit enterprise with water, sewer and electrical services available.
Municipality A municipality refers to a village, town or city that operates as a local government under the leadership of a major and council.
Natural Gas Compressor Station A business that operates a large industrial facility to mechanically maintain the flow and pressure of natural gas. The process includes receding gas from an individual producing well site through a pipeline, re-pressuring it and sending it back into the pipeline system to distribute to the end user.
Non-Metallic Mineral Mining and Dressing A business that plans to extract stone, sand, rock or similar materials from natural deposits. Dressing processes include grinding, mixing, cutting, shaping, and honing. Heat often is used in the process and chemicals are frequently mixed to change the composition, purity, and chemical properties for the intended product. For example, glass is produced by heating silica sand to the melting point (sometimes combined with cullet or recycled glass) and then drawn, floated, or blow molded to the desired shape or thickness. Refractory materials are heated and then formed into bricks or other shapes for use in industrial applications.
Oil and Gas Extraction A business or individual who is associated with the exploration, production and subsurface storage of oil and gas in Missouri. The business extracts the oil and gas to sell to other businesses. The individual may only use the gas or oil to heat their property. However, they are still required to obtain a license and permit. This type of business also includes those interested in drilling oil and gas productions wells and underground injection control wells. 
Optical Goods A business that sells and fits prescription and non-prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses, frames as well as other eyewear.
Paper and Allied Products A business engaged in manufacturing wood pulp from wood or other cellulose fibers, and from rags; the manufacture of paper and paperboard; and the manufacture of paper and paperboard into converted products such as paper coated off the paper machine, paper bags, paper boxes and envelopes. Also included are establishments that primarily engage in manufacturing bags of plastics film and sheet.
Pest Control This business provides a service to remove or eliminate potentially harmful insects, rodents and reptiles from commercial and residential properties.
Pesticide Manufacturer A business that produces and distributes pesticides, which include insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and rodenticides. Pesticides are used to kill, repel or control certain forms of plant or animal life that are considered to be pests. If misused or improperly disposed, pesticides can contaminate our soil, groundwater, lakes and streams. 
Petroleum Products Processor A business that recovers or processes used oil. Petroleum product means all refined and semi-refined products that are produced at a refinery by processing crude oil and other petroleum-based feedstocks, including petroleum products derived from co-processing biomass and petroleum feedstock together, but not including plastics or plastic products. Petroleum products may be combusted for energy use, or they may be used either for non-energy processes or as non-energy products.
Petroleum Storage Tank A business that includes an underground storage tank on the property to store either petroleum or certain hazardous substances may require registration within Missouri. Businesses or individuals that own an underground storage tank need to determine if their tank is regulated. Above ground storage tanks are regulated by the Missouri Department of Agriculture's Fuel Device Safety and Accuracy Program.
Pharmaceutical A commercial business licensed to research, develop, market, sale and distribute drugs to improve the general health and welfare of the public.
Photographic Goods A business that sales or repairs any apparatus or equipment used for taking, developing or enlarging photographs or moving pictures, including but not limited to cameras, video cameras, camera cases, lenses, tripods and developing equipment. These goods or equipment may also be used to show sewer pipe and manhole defects.  
Photography Processing Facility  A facility that uses a chemical process to develop or print paper prints, slides, negatives, enlargements, movie film and other sensitized materials. 
Pipeline Operator A person or business that is primarily responsible for managing the flow of oil, natural gas and other fossil fuel materials that circulate through pipelines.
Plumbing Contractor A person whose principal business is the installation, maintenance, extension and alteration of piping, plumbing fixtures, plumbing appliances and plumbing appurtenances, venting systems and public or private water supply systems within or adjacent to any building or structure.
Portland Cement Plant A facility that uses an energy intensive process to produce cement by grinding and heating a mixture of raw materials such as limestone, clay, sand and iron ore in a rotary kiln. The kiln is a large furnace that is fueled by coal, oil, gas, coke and various waste materials. The produced called clinker from the kiln is cooled, ground and then mixed with a small amount of gypsum to produce Portland cement.
Power Plant An industrial facility that generates power either as electric or nuclear from primary energy.
Primary Metals This industry smelts and refines ferrous and nonferrous metals from ore, pig or scrap using electrometallurical or other metallurgical techniques. 
Printing and Publishing A business that provides printing services using letterpress, lithography, gravure, screen, or xerographic copying as well as bookbinding, typesetting, engraving, photoengraving and electrotyping. This type of business also includes publishing newspapers, books and periodicals.
Prison A facility used to confine inmates who are being legally held as a punishment for a crime they have committed or await trial.
Public Water System A governmental unit, municipal or private corporation, association, partnership or individual engaged in furnishing water to the public for household or drinking purposes.
Pulp and Paper Mill A pulp mill is a manufacturing facility that converts wood chips or other plant fibers sources into a thick fiber board which can be shipped to a paper mill for further processing. A paper mill is a factor devoted to making paper.
Pump Contractor A person engaging in the business of installing, removing or serving pumps and pumping equipment on or in water wells, vaults, cesspools and septic tanks. A pump contractor may also clean or pump waste from a private sewage disposal system, portable toilet, portable hand-washing unit or holding tank or hauls or dispose wastes from such equipment. Pump contractors or pumper installers does not include a person who also constructs water wells as a driller, well driller, drilling contractor or water well contractor.
Real Estate Development A real estate development is a multifaceted business, encompassing activities that range from the renovation of existing buildings to the purchase of land to clear and resale.
Reclaimed Water Agent A facility that uses a treatment process to convert municipal wastewater, industrial wastewater or sewage into water than can be reused for a variety of beneficial purposes such as car washes, irrigation, dust control and aesthetic purpose.
Reclaimed Water Blending Facility A facility that uses a treatment process to convert municipal wastewater, industrial wastewater or sewage into water than can be reused for a variety of beneficial purposes such as car washes, irrigation, dust control and aesthetic purpose.
Roofing Contractor A roofer, roof mechanic or a roofing contractor is a tradesperson who specializes in roof construction. Roofers replace, repair and install roofs on buildings using a variety of materials including shingles, bitumen and metal.
