Companies doing business in Missouri may be regulated by the department under one or several federal and state environmental laws and regulations. Permits are a necessary part of the environmental business because it is our first and best opportunity at protecting our air, land and water. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is responsible for issuing permits to ensure businesses and individuals understand and follow these laws and regulations and minimize their impact on the environment.

Available below are resources the department provides for tracking permit applications the department has received and is currently reviewing. The applications are reviewed to make sure they meet the requirements of applicable state and federal laws and regulations. An application is considered pending until the department issues or denies the permit or the applicant withdraws the application.
