Both the department's Water Protection Program and Missouri Geological Survey issue a variety of water-related permits and certifications to ensure businesses and individuals understand and comply with all applicable provisions of federal and state environmental laws and regulations. Water-related permits may be needed for activities related to dams and reservoirs, drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, water quality and wells and drilling.

Listed below are resources the department provides for tracking water-related permit applications the department has received and is currently reviewing. An application is considered pending until the department issues or denies the permit or the applicant withdraws the application. Before the permit is issued, the department invites the public to review and offer written comments on the proposed permit conditions.
