Both the department's Water Protection Program and Missouri Geological Survey issue a variety of water-related permits and certifications to ensure businesses and individuals understand and comply with all applicable provisions of federal and state environmental laws and regulations. Water-related permits may be needed for activities related to dams and reservoirs, drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, water quality and wells and drilling.
Listed below are resources the department provides for reviewing copies of electronically available, currently effective water-related permits the department has issued. All drinking water permits and most wastewater and stormwater permits are written to be site-specific, issued to that one location to reflect the unique nature of the facility and its activities. Stormwater and wastewater master general permits, as opposed to site-specific permits, are issued to multiple locations where activities are similar enough to be covered by a single set of requirements.
*Some permits may not be available on the department's website due to their file size. If you are unable to find the information you are searching for, please submit a Open Records/ Sunshine Law Request.
