The Missouri Department of Natural Resources takes a holistic approach to protecting water quality. Water data is collected through various sources including the state level and through regulated facilities and volunteer groups. The types of data currently available are listed below.

- Missouri Gateway for Environmental Management (MoGEM) - Online portal is used by the regulated community to conduct business with the department. Water-related services available within MoGEM:
- Electronic Discharge Monitoring Reports (eDMR) -
- Electronic Permitting - Apply for a Land Disturbance Stormwater General Operating Permit
- Geologic Evaluation Data Gateway Exchange (GeoEDGE) - Request and track a new geohydrologic evaluation or review a completed evaluation for residential housing developments and wastewater treatment facilities
- Sanitary Sewer Overflow/ Bypass Reporting - Report sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) and bypasses from treatment works or collection systems
- Well Information Management System (WIMS 2.0) - Apply for a well driller's permit, register drill rigs and other vehicles, complete online testing, submit certification and registration reports and request variances, casing point depths and investigation
- Major Water Use Information System - Major Water Users report their annual water volume usage
- Operator Certification Information System - Check hours, renew certificates or search for water and wastewater operators

- How’s My Waterway - EPA - Online database that provides information about the condition of your local waters based on data that states, federal, tribal, local agencies and others have provided to EPA
- Impaired Waters - Water bodies not meeting Water Quality Standards
- Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) - Online database of all analytical data analyzed at the department laboratory for the past five years
- Lakes of Missouri Volunteer Program (LMVP) Data - Provides data and annual summaries for each lake
- Missouri Clean Water Information Systems (MoCWIS)
- Water Quality Data Search - Search water quality data generated by the department and other organizations whose data is used by department (may include other organizations listed)
- Water Quality Standards Search - Search water bodies in the current version of the Water Quality Standards
- USGS Water-Quality Data for Missouri - Conditions at selected sites based on the most recent data from on-site automated recording equipment
- Water Quality Portal - National Water Quality Monitoring Council - Includes water quality data collected by more than 400 state, federal, tribal and local agencies
- Water Quality Standards Map Viewer - Access location, classification and designated uses of Missouri waterbodies
- WATERS (Watershed Assessment, Tracking & Environmental Results System) - EPA - Access comprehensive information about the quality of the nation's surface water, including: designated use(s), water quality monitoring results, water quality assessments, causes and sources of impaired waters and discharge locations
