Capacity Development Strategy Advisory Committee

According to Section 2012 of the America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) and Section 1420(c) of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Missouri is required to update its capacity development strategy to include provisions for encouraging asset management at public water systems. In order to meet these requirements, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources reactivated the Capacity Development Strategy Advisory Committee to solicit feedback on updates to the strategy and best practices for incorporating asset management.

The most updated Capacity Development Strategy for Existing Public Water Systems was released in December 2022. This edition included, as appropriate, a description of how the state will encourage the development of asset management plans by public water systems that include best practices for asset management. The strategy also assists public water systems, through the provisions of technical assistance, in training operators or other relevant and appropriate persons in implementing such asset management plans.

Meetings

This workgroup is a standing working group that may remain inactive until a strategy review begins. Meetings are held as needed and are open to everyone. Attendance at these meetings may be in person, by conference call or through Webex. The department will attempt to correct technical difficulties as they arise, but the department cannot guarantee the quality of the Webex or conference call option. The meeting will not be subject to change or repeat due to any technical difficulties.

If there are issues you would like to discuss during the meeting, you will need to notify the department before the meeting. You can do this by emailing the staff coordinator noted below. Individuals requiring special services or accommodations in order to attend a meeting can make arrangements by contacting the staff coordinator at least 48 hours before the meeting.
