JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MARCH 28, 2023 – The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation will consider nominations to the National Register of Historic Places during its quarterly meeting at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, in the Bennett Spring and Roaring River conference rooms at the MoDNR Elm Street Conference Center, located at 1730 E. Elm St. in Jefferson City. Remote participation is also available by following the instructions provided below.

The following nominations will be considered at the meeting:  

  • Kemper Military District HD (formerly District A) Additional Documentation and Boundary Increase. Historic Resources of Boonville, Missouri MRA, roughly bounded by Vine, Third and Spruce streets and the Katy Trail (vacated tracks of the Missouri Pacific Railroad), in Boonville, Cooper County.
  • John Hancock Building, 800 W. 47 St. in Kansas City, Jackson County.
  • Parkview Towers, 701 Westgate Ave. in University City, St. Louis County.
  • Mavrakos Candy Company Building, 4709-17 Delmar Blvd. in St. Louis [Independent City].
  • Lincoln School, 229 Westgate St.in Sikeston, Scott County.      

The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is a group of historians, architects, archaeologists and citizens with an interest in historic preservation. The council is appointed by the governor and works with the Department of Natural Resources' State Historic Preservation Office, which administers the National Register of Historic Places program for Missouri. The council meets quarterly to review Missouri property nominations to the National Register, the nation's honor roll of historic properties. Approved nominations are forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register in Washington, D.C., for final approval.
