The department currently is accepting priority applications for the Source Water Protection Project Grant through March 31, 2026. Applications received between April 1, 2026 through May 31, 2026, may be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis if available funds remain.
Through this grant program, the department offers up to $25,000 to eligible community water systems to develop and implement voluntary, local source water protection plans to protect the community’s raw water source(s) from contamination. Community public water systems that produce all or a portion of their water from a raw source are eligible to apply for reimbursement funding through this program.
