The public can review the draft plan below. The department developed the proposed plan in coordination with other state agencies, local governments, and numerous other stakeholders across the state. The proposed plan is a required element of a federal grant the department received from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). States and other recipients of the grant must develop plans with potential emission reduction measures to be eligible to apply and compete for $4.3 billion available nationwide in grant funding during the implementation phase of the federal grant program. This proposed plan includes a broad range of project categories and a list of project ideas collected during plan development. This plan os needed to qualify Missouri for federal funding to support investment in Missouri communities to reduce air pollution, create high-quality jobs, spur economic growth, and enhance the quality of life for all Missourians.
The department will hold a public meeting about the proposed plan on Jan. 25, 2024. Please follow the link below for more information.
