JEFFERSON CITY, MO, DEC. 1, 2021 – Staff members at Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site invite the public to their annual Ozark Christmas Traditions event from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, with tours beginning every 20 minutes.

Visitors will learn how the Boone family and residents of the Missouri Ozarks celebrated the holiday season. There will be a candlelit path to the Boone home and the opportunity to visit with St. Nicholas. 

Activities on this tour include hands-on holiday décor stations, holiday photo stations and costumed interpreters sharing stories of Christmas past. A reading of Clement Clarke Moore’s poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas” will take place on the front porch of the Boone home at 3 p.m. 

The public is strongly encouraged to follow social-distancing guidelines and be proactive in protecting themselves and others. Groups are limited to 12 people and reservations are recommended. This event is free and open to the public.
