JEFFERSON CITY, MO, OCT. 26, 2021 - Clare Foster, a human resources assistant with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Administrative Support, has been selected as the department’s October 2021 Team Member of the Month. Foster was selected for her efforts to coordinate development of a procedures manual for the state’s job posting system.
The state of Missouri recently implemented a new job-vacancy posting system that helps organize, advertise and fill vacancies through an online web platform for the state workforce. During the testing phase, Foster observed there were no procedures manuals. She took the initiative to develop, streamline and manage a living document to benefit hiring managers within the department.
Foster has taken it upon herself to continue updating the procedures manual as features are added or updated in the system, as well as to train hiring managers and answer questions for colleagues in other state agencies. She has also hosted presentations about the new hiring platform and processes.
“I think Clare is a rockstar,” said Shannon Wilson, an executive assistant who nominated Foster for the award. “She has done a fabulous job keeping up with changes, kept her patience with hiring managers and has done it all in a positive and professional way.”
Foster’s usual duties consist of posting open department vacancies, organizing vacancy packets for the personnel clerk’s eligibility reviews and serving as the first-line contact for the department’s hiring webpage. In addition to these duties, she also closely monitors for any technical issues and helps with troubleshooting.
“Clare has become integral to the hiring process,” said Aarick Roberto, a talent acquisitions specialist who also nominated Foster for the award. “Her constant dedication to making sure this process is running smoothly for everyone is clearly evident in her successes.”
Foster joined the Missouri Department of Natural Resources in January 2019 and resides in Jefferson City.
