JEFFERSON CITY, MO, APRIL 30, 2024 – Children of all ages are invited to Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, for 1860s Children’s Day. Children will have the opportunity to learn what life was like in the 1860s by participating in common chores and games from the time period.
Activities include washing clothes with a washboard, dipping candles, making rag dolls, walking on stilts, playing horseshoes and cornhole, and more! This free event is open to the public and will be canceled in the case of inclement weather.
