JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JULY 12, 2023 – Step back in time at Bennett Spring State Park as the park hosts Pioneer Games from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, July 14, and Thursday, July 20.

Pioneer children had simple toys and games made out of available materials, such as pebbles, rope and pieces of wood. Dolls were made from wool and scraps of material. Join park team members for traditional games and activities, such as fox and geese, shadow tag, drop the handkerchief, dare base and marbles.

Games will be played according to the size and interest of the group, and will take place inside and outside the park’s nature center. All activities are free and open to the public. Participants are welcome to bring their own pioneer toys to share with others.
