The Doe Run Resources Corporation dba The Doe Run Company applied for authorization to either discharge to waters of the state, or to operate a no-discharge wastewater treatment facility. The department proposed to issue a Missouri State Operating Permit for The Doe Run Company Viburnum Operations, subject to certain effluent limitations, schedules and special conditions. The department invited the public to review and offer written comments on the proposed permit conditions until Aug. 26, 2024.
Due to comments received from EPA, the comment period for this draft permit is being closed. Once the department reviews EPA's recommendations, an updated draft permit will be issued and new comment period will be scheduled.
