The department proposes to issue a Section 401 Water Quality Certification to the department's St. Francois State Park, subject to general or special conditions. The department invites the public to review and offer written comments on the proposed certification conditions until April 17, 2024. The department's Division of State Parks requested Section 401 Water Quality Certification to accompany the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' (USACE) Permit for Nationwide Permit 13 for “Bank Stabilization.” The project is located in Section 25, Township 38 North, Range 4 East, on a classified stream commonly refer to as Coonville Creek, in St Francois County, Missouri. The proposed project consists stabilizing the right descending bank of Coonville Creek to protect a pedestrian bridge. Stabilization will include rock riprap for approximately 45 linear feet upstream and 30 linear feet downstream of the bridge. The bridge is approximately 12 linear feet wide.
