Proposed Risk Assessment Level for Cobalt and Cobalt Compounds Public Comment Period, Dec. 11, 2024 to Jan. 10, 2025

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is proposing Human Health-Based Risk Assessment Levels (RALs) for cobalt and cobalt compounds for use in future air permitting requirements.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is proposing Human Health-Based Risk Assessment Levels (RALs) for cobalt and cobalt compounds for use in future air permitting requirements. The department proposes replacing the current RAL for cobalt and cobalt compounds (Chemical Abstracts Service Number 7440-48-8) with new RALs. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services concurred with the department's proposal. 

MoDNR invites the public to review and offer written comments on the proposal until Jan. 10, 2025. MoDNR may extend the comment period 30 calendar days if it receives a written request by Jan. 5, 2025. The public can review the supporting documents below.
