The Missouri Department of Natural Resources prepared a draft Solid Waste Disposal Area Construction Permit for the Black Oak Recycling and Disposal Facility. The department invites the public to review and offer written comments on the draft permit until Dec. 18, 2023. The department will hold a public hearing about the draft permit on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023. Please follow the public hearing link below for more information.
The Black Oak Recycling and Disposal Facility is owned by Waste Corporation of Missouri LLC. The proposed site is located at 5054 Highway HH, about 4 miles southeast of Hartville, Missouri. It is a 194.08 acre site, of which the landfill disposal area is approximately 100.11 acres. The proposed sanitary landfill would be used to dispose of municipal solid waste, bulky waste, demolition and construction, soil, rock, concrete, tires and inert solids.
After a thorough technical review of the permit application, the department prepared a draft draft Solid Waste Disposal Area Construction Permit. An electronic version of the draft permit is available at the link below. Paper copies of the draft permit and supporting documents are available during normal business hours at the Wright County Library, 160 E. Marshfield St., Hartville, MO 65667; or the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Elm Street Conference Center, Jefferson City, MO 65102. An Open Records/ Sunshine Law Request will need to be submitted to review or obtain copies of the department's files.
