The Missouri Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are hosting a public outreach meeting to discuss flood resiliency near Missouri River mile marker 142. Both agency's will present information at 5 p.m., and repeat the presentations at 6:15 p.m. An open house with informational stations will be open between the two presentations and again after the second presentation until the meeting adjourns at 7:30 p.m.
The Jefferson City Study area includes the current area of the Capital View levee and the authorized, but never constructed, L-142 levee near Jefferson City, Missouri. The agency's are seeking public input about the flooding problems in the area and the factors that are important to finding a locally preferred plan to reduce the risk of flood damages or improve resiliency in that location.
