Release Date

Experience history as it unfolds at the Homestead Days Festival. The living history festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 17 and 18 at Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site near Ash Grove. The event is free and open to the public.

Activities at the Homestead Days Festival will include period music, storytelling and frontier craft demonstrations. Living historians will demonstrate Nathan Boone’s work as a hunter, explorer, soldier, statesman and farmer. A rendezvous camp and military camps will be open for tours. Historical interpreters will be available both days to tell stories of the Boones and their connection to the Missouri Ozarks. Refreshments will be available from vendors in the concession area.

Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site is located 1.5 miles north of Ash Grove on Highway V. The historic site preserves the last home and grave of Nathan Boone.
