Take a guided van ride to the firetower, hike down Mudlick Mountain and discover how natural forces continue to change the landscape with displays and hands-on activities at Mudlick Mountain Tours. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Sam A. Baker State Park near Patterson. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event is free and open to the public.

Whether hiking the trails, floating on the creek, or taking a ride on the equestrian trail, the landscape that encompasses Sam A. Baker State Park is continually undergoing change brought about by the forces of earth, wind, fire and water. These forces gave the landscape its form eons ago and continue to have an impact today. Activities for the day include guided van rides to the Mudlick Mountain Fire Tower and hikes on Mudlick Mountain, displays and hands-on activities at the Visitor Center, and creek exploration led by park naturalists in the afternoon. Registration for van tours begins at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event.
