The public is invited to enjoy Halloween Storytelling featuring professional storyteller Marilyn Kinsella. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 at Bollinger Mill State Historic Site in Burfordville.

Since 1981, Marilyn Kinsella has been telling stories and her collection of stories has grown from a handful to hundreds of stories. For 16 years she worked as the storyteller at the Edwardsville Public Library where she honed her skill as a storyteller and puppeteer. Since her retirement in 2002, she has worked as a full-time, freelance professional storyteller.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for seating. Refreshments will be provided after the storytelling.

Bollinger Mill State Historic Site is the site of a Civil War-era mill where visitors can learn how corn and wheat were ground into meal and flour by water power, just as it was done long ago. Burfordville Covered Bridge, the oldest of the four remaining covered bridges in the state, was built in 1858 and stretches 140 feet across the Whitewater River, which powers the mill.
