Shake and Quake: Earthquake Preparedness is in the Bag!" an event in recognition of Earthquake Awareness Month, will be held at Onondaga Cave State Park between at 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday, Feb. 28 at park’s visitor center . The program is free and open to the public.
Guests can join staff from Missouri State Parks, Missouri Geological Survey and the State Emergency Management Agency to learn about earthquake basics, earthquake history and earthquake preparedness.
This program will include an introduction to the State Emergency Management Agency programs related to earthquakes. After the program, a short video about earthquakes in the Central U.S. will be shown. Refreshments will be provided and there will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
Onondaga Cave State Park is located seven miles southeast of the Leasburg exit off of Interstate 44 on Highway H. For more information about the event, contact the park at 573-245-6576.
