View the majestic American bison on their native landscape with a guided hike at 10 a.m., Sept. 10 at Prairie State Park near Mindenmines. The two-mile hike will start at the Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center.

The cooler temperatures of fall will make it a good time to hike while viewing the prairie grasses, flowers and the bison. The hike will be over uneven terrain so sturdy shoes are recommended. Hikers should bring water, snacks, insect repellent and sunscreen. Don’t forget your cameras and binoculars.
