Release Date

Guests are invited to take part in several basket weaving classes at First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site in St. Charles. Classes will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. one Saturday a month from Jan. to May.

Guests will learn the art of basket weaving and create individual handmade items. Participants will pay a fee for the class, and all materials will be supplied for each the unique basket made. Class size is limited and registration is required. Each class offers the opportunity to learn a different basket and guests are encouraged to experience them all.

Dates and projects for classes are:

Jan. 21: Mom’s Casserole basket
Feb. 11, Round Pie basket
March 18: Market basket
April 1: Egg basket
May 6: Picnic basket
