The public is invited to attend the park’s third annual "Archaeology Day" at Knob Noster State Park. The event will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 at the park’s Visitor Center.
Members of the Sedalia-West Central Missouri Archaeological Society, a chapter of the Missouri Archaeological Society, will be at the park to teach visitors about Missouri archaeology from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Sedalia Chapter will have a table of artifacts for guests to view. Visitors are also invited to bring in an artifact for assistance in identification by society members.
At 3:30 p.m., visitors will be able to get a fun hands-on approach to archaeology with "Digging into Archaeology."
This event is free and open to the public, and it is presented in cooperation with Missouri Archaeological Society and Missouri State Parks.
