The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation will consider nominations to the National Register of Historic Places during its quarterly meeting in Jefferson City. The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held 9 a.m., Aug. 14 in the LaCharrette Conference Room at the Lewis and Clark State Office Building.
Two districts and four individual property nominations are scheduled to be considered for listing in the National Register. The list includes the following commercial, residential, and institutional properties and districts.
Grand-Dover Park Historic District, bounded by South Grand Boulevard, Bates Street Alley west of Dewey Avenue and alley south of Bowen Street, St. Louis
Commerce Trust Company Historic District, bounded by East 9th Street, Walnut Street, East 10th Street and Main Street, Kansas City
The Home of the Friendless, 4431 South Broadway, St. Louis
Engine House No. 32, 2000 Washington Avenue and 503 N 20th Street, St. Louis
Green, Philip and Louisa, Home, 4171 West Belle Place, St. Louis
Ten Main Center, 910-920 Main Street, Kansas City
The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is a 12-member group of historians, architects, archaeologists and citizens with an interest in historic preservation. The council is appointed by the governor and works with the Department of Natural Resources’ State Historic Preservation Office, which administers the National Register of Historic Places program for Missouri. The council meets quarterly to review Missouri property nominations to the National Register, the nation's honor roll of historic properties. Approved nominations are forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register in Washington, D.C., for final approval.
